BAILEY MONTOYA
University of Dayton
Catcher
What’s your role at Home Field Instruction?
I am the catching instructor, but I also work with hitters and teams to help them accomplish their goals on the field. But also my role as an instructor is to mold these young men and women for future success in life. I love baseball but there is more to life than just between the lines.
Who inspires you?
My brother Levi Montoya passed away when I was a junior in high school. He attacked life with a good attitude and always put 100 percent effort into anything he was doing. Whether it was football or showing animals at the county fair, he always had fun, win or lose. Our family and many people say to always remember him but more importantly Live Like Levi.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I own and operate a small herd of Tamworth and Hereford pigs. I sell the baby pigs to kids in 4-H that want to take these pigs and make their projects to grow and show them at their county fairs, even at the state level.
